Kid Birthday Parties and "doing it wrong".

I think I screwed up... I finally decided to let my 7 year old have a friend birthday party after 2 years of begging. I had planned on sending out invites 2 1/2 weeks before party, giving families a 2 week notice. I ended up becoming very ill with a head cold and sent them out 3 days late. Which gave a week and a half notice. Last night a mother called to accept the invite and let me know that proper etiquette is to give 2 to 3 weeks notice. I'm feeling like kind of a screw up...

I don't think you screwed up either. I can't believe this woman had the audacity to tell you that on the phone. It's one thing if you solicit someone's advice prior to the party. It's quite another to have someone just come out with that. Don't let her get you down.

I can't believe someone did that! I got a phone call last Tuesday for a b'day part for DS to attend Thursday! And rec'd an email last weekend for a b'day party this weekend. I would NOT worry about that mother. If she's so on the ball, woohoo for her
